Music News: Son Volt, Big Black Delta, Generationals, Body Language, Reverend and the Makers

News

First off let me once again welcome our newest writer Amanda Danielle to The De Mello Theory. If you didn’t get a chance to check out her review of the Ellie Goulding show do so…now. On this date in music history Rob Thomas was born, Lenny Kravitz’s song “Fly Away” went to number 1, and Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” became the most (over)played song in music history. Just in case you thought that Valentine’s Day was a good day. Now, the news:

  • Apparat aka Sascha Ring, created a masterpiece of an album that is streaming for free over on Soundcloud. It doesn’t really fit into our model here, but it’s this really cool chill wave, electro-classical album that is really easy to listen to and just beautiful.
  • Generationals are coming out with their second album April 2 called Heza and they released the first track from the album. Let me know what you think:

  • Son Volt has released a teaser, that’s a thing now, of their upcoming album Honky Tonk out March 5th. Check it out:

  • Big Black Delta has just released a new track called “Side of the Road” an electronic song with a soulful bent to it.

  • Reverend and the Makers, that fantastic band out of Sheffield, England (which is, according to an interview I saw with Dominic West, one of the most dangerous places in England) are touring the US! Check here for the dates and cities.
  • Body Language has come out with a Free EP called Grammar (Get Excited). Download it here like we did!
