Music News: Harriet, Wale, Jerry Seinfeld, Night Moves, Stubborn Hearts

Think of me as Kurt Loder or John Norris. For those that have no idea who I’m talking about, just remember MTV used to actually be something people watched for Music information not idiocy. And no here are the interesting tidbits of info from the world of music this week:

  • The band Harriet went to Kickstarter and raised $12,000 in funds to record their sophomore album. No word on when that album might come out yet, but they will be headlining a month long residency at the Echo in Los Angeles and make an appearance at Brick and Mortar in SF for the Noise Pop Festival February 27th.
  • Breakout 2012 artist Night Moves are streaming their latest album Colored Emotions at…Teen Vogue? Brilliant or just weird? You decide.
  • Toro Y Moi is streaming his upcoming album Anything in Return over at Pitchfork. We should have a review sometime this week.
  • One of the weirder stories this week has Jerry Seinfeld and rapper Wale collaborating on an album. Wale did release a mixtape about nothing last year that even had an appearance by Julia Louis Dreyfus so maybe this isn’t that weird.
  • Finally Stubborn Heart, out of England, are releasing their debut self-titled album March 5th.
